Large Inferolateral Left Ventricular Aneurysm
The majority of cardiac left ventricular aneurysms involve the anterior and/or apical wall. We present a case of a 50-year-old man with heart failure caused by a large inferolateral left ventricular aneurysm and associated mitral regurgitation, managed by aneurysmectomy, mitral valvuloplasty, and surgical revascularization.

DESCRIPTION A 69-year-old man was seen among outpatients after an episode of chest pain. He was pain-free and haemodynamically stable. His electrocardiogram was normal, but a pan-systolic murmur was noted on examination. He was referred for outpatient exercise treadmill testing and transthoracic echocardiography. The echocardiogram demonstrated an akinetic basal posterior wall of the left ventr...
متن کاملDiagnosing left ventricular aneurysm from pseudo-aneurysm: a case report and a review in literature
Rupture of the free wall of the left ventricle (LV) is a catastrophic complication occurring in 4% of patients after myocardial infarction (MI) and in 23% of those who die of MI. Rarely the rupture is contained by an adherent pericardium creating a pseudo-aneurysm. This clinical finding calls for emergency surgery. If no ruptures are detectable and myocardium wall integrity is confirmed, we are...
متن کاملLeft ventricular septal aneurysm.
A6-month-old girl (3.5 months corrected, born at 28 weeks gestational age) presented with a history of increasing tachypnea, diaphoresis, difficulty feeding, and poor weight gain. A 15-lead ECG done on day 41 of life had revealed normal sinus rhythm with a nonspecific intraventricular conduction delay. At that time, clinically there was a soft systolic murmur and no evidence of congestive heart...
